New Popeye movie makes innovations in computer animated movies

Ok I know that Popeye isn't the ideal cartoon character that you'd think of when making an eyebrow raising movie.
(His enormous forearms scare me too)
But, from the looks of the new animation test for the new Popeye movie, we might be changing our minds. Director and narrator Genndy Tartakovsky, who is known for making Hotel Transylvania, has had a life long obsession with the spinach addicted sailor and now will finally make a movie dedicated to his favorite cartoon character. Tratakovsky's style of physics defying animation from this video is well demonstrated. He has adapted the 1930's cartoon to have a more sleek and sharp looking design that makes the cartoon characters look almost lifelike. Needless to say, this looks a thousand times better than the 30's and 40's cartoons, cartoon strips, and the 1980 Robert Altman live action rendition of Popeye. The movie doesn't have a release date but sources say that the movie should be released in the coming year.
